Cboe to merge digital assets business with derivatives and clearing arm

The company also plans to wind down the operations of its Cboe Digital Spot Market asset trading platform in the third quarter of 2024, it said in a statement. It added that the move would have no material impact on Cboe's net revenue in 2024. "We believe these changes enable greater optimization and strategic alignment for our business across geographies and asset classes, further supporting our long-term growth strategy," said Fred Tomczyk, chief executive officer, Cboe Global Markets.

Cboe Global Markets asked the SEC to approve a rule change that would allow issuers to add an exchange-traded fund share class to existing mutual funds, the exchange said on Thursday. Cboe Global Markets filed a request with the SEC for regulatory approval to change its rules and allow issuers to add an exchange-traded fund (ETF) share class to existing mutual funds, the exchange said on Thursday. If approved, this would allow established asset management firms to more easily expand strategies that currently exist only as mutual funds by simply adding an ETF share class, throwing open the doors to thousands of new funds.
