Hotel Artesia will undergo $500,000 renovation under new owner
New ownership, a name change and room renovations await Hotel Artesia, said the hotel’s general manager.
Cassie Smith said Henry Bhakta purchased Hotel Artesia in December of last year with the intent of remodeling and changing the name to Spark by Hilton.
The Artesia Daily Press reported the ownership group of Hotel Artesia sold to Bhakta’s Prominence Hospitality and 5-Star Hospitality, LLC.

“We’re excited about the changes and upgrades to the rooms,” Smith told the Current-Argus.
Smith said Hotel Artesia opened in 2009 at 200 North Second Street.
Renovation of the hotel under its new owners were estimated at $500,000 and should start in May and last through the end of 2024, according to the Daily Press.
What is Spark by Hilton?
“Spark by Hilton provides a simple, reliable and comfortable stay for every guest, all at an accessible price,” read a news release from Hilton Hotels and Resorts.
Spark by Hilton was launched by the worldwide hotel and resort chain in January of last year, according to the release.
