JULIE HYMAN: It's closing time here at Yahoo Finance. Here's a look at some of the top stories of the day. Apple making it official, unveiling its iPhone 15 lineup. One of the biggest changes, a new charger. Apple abandoning the lightning cable and it's switching to USB-C.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, they'll start with a $799 price tag. That's the same as it was a year ago. It also unveiled the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max starting at $999. Another key announcement was the next generation of Apple Watch.

And Birkenstock filing for its initial public offering. The footwear company seeking a valuation between $7 and $8 billion. For pricing of the IPO, we'll find that out at a later date. The company will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BIRK, B-I-R-K.

And a major deal in the packaging sector. Ireland Smurfit Kappa acquiring WestRock, which is based in the US, for $11 billion. Together, the companies have a market value of about $20 billion. This will create the world's biggest paper and packaging company at a time when demand is weakening and prices are falling.
