The 2 largest hotel groups are trading very close to all time highs!!

So does that mean business travel, conventions, tourism is all back to normal and they haven't diluted shares or taken on more debt??

    Come on man!!

Investors in HLT are not taking into account Airbnb and it’s huge negative effect on hoteliers. Couple that with Omicron and Hilton is going to plunge. I’m not saying that the chain doesn’t have a good overall product but that HLT is stratospherically overpriced and it’s fair market value is probably $25 per share. Look out below!

even if HLT gets their earnings back to pre pandemic times, the stock price means 2.7% return on the dollar, $2.70 per $100 invested

and that doesn't take into consideration the debt and liabilities

HLT is a a perfect example of the fraudulent financial markets right now. This stock should be in the single digits. PE ratio of 1100+, lockdowns, travel bans and now EVERGRANDE defaulting on their $300 Billion debt. The darkest of times are coming.
    Bearish

Hilton insiders are whispering sell orders trying to keep it quiet! Look who is selling at the current peak; Kristin Campbell, General Counsel just sold 28,067 shares and Matthew Schuyler, Chief Brand Officer sold 10,000. Gettin’ when the getting is good and leaving their detritus to the bag holders.

Blizzards & winter are bad for the hotel business. Hilton is overpriced going into the cold weather season. Tire rotation and stock rotation time.

Hilton now has an overpriced ‘Paris Hilton’ styled PE ratio and all bag holders will get a bow tie! The PE Ratio, or Price-to-Earnings ratio, or P/E Ratio, is a financial ratio used to compare a company's market price to its Earnings per Share (Diluted). As of today (2021-11-19), Hilton Worldwide Holdings's share price is $143.59. Hilton Worldwide Holdings's Earnings per Share (Diluted) for the trailing twelve months (TTM) ended in Sep. 2021 was $0.12. Therefore, Hilton Worldwide Holdings's PE Ratio for today is 1,196.58. What a rip off!

Hilton-Book Value per share=Negative $4.04/share, a current ratio of only 1, a trailing PE ratio of 1,102 and another cash drain of $375 million to buy Donald’s hotel lease? I belong to Hilton Honors but my utilization is way down and I don’t foresee it going higher any time soon. Hilton shares seem way overpriced. This stock is walking a tightrope with gravity calling.

Down $3.51 today. It should be down $35.10.

Price to earnings ratios matter. Marriott Hotels PE-107.25, Extended Stay America PE-172. Choice Hotels PE-36, Hilton Hotels PE-2251. Basically, the whole hotel chain industry is way overpriced entering the winter season. A PE of 20 for a hotel chain would be more than fair. The bottom line is Hilton Hotels is grossly overpriced. At some point institutional funds are going to unload their Hilton stock to make a profit off the bag holders.

I view both HLT and MAR as long term buy and hold type stocks, so I don't really care about the short term ups and downs.

    This is one crazy valuation...
Hotel stock is so much higher than pre-pandemic in times all all the corona troubles. Makes no sense to me.

The biggest Scandinavian chain - Scandic Hotels - trades at less than 50% of pre-pandemic (despite of being profitable in the last quarter). That's a reasonable valuation
