An aerospace and defense technologies company is embarking on a $5 million expansion project at its Beavercreek facility. Orbital ATK confirmed Tuesday it will expand the Greene County production facility by 40,000 square feet in 2017 and 2018. When the project is completed, the building will extend to 215,000 square feet. The planned expansion is a result of existing aerospace and defense work being transferred from the company's Clearfield, Utah facility, and a $90 million contract to supply high temperature composites for the U.S. military. George McNamee, chairman of Plug Power's board of directors, purchased 200,000 shares of Plug stock worth more than $426,000 in September. McNamee now owns 661,131 shares of Plug’s common stock, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission disclosure filed on Monday. McNamee, a former chairman of First Albany Cos. and Mechanical Technology Inc., has invested in Plug Power since the Latham, New York, fuel cell manufacturer was founded in 1997. He is the 14th largest shareholder of Plug. Following the disclosure, Plug Power's stock increased more than 9 percent, closing at $2.47 on Monday. Tuesday morning the stock was selling around $2.40. ManTech International Corp. is acquiring InfoZen for $180 million in cash in a deal that brings together two government technology contractors with an eye on the IT modernization business. Herndon-based ManTech (MANT) sees the deal expanding its presence in the federal civilian market, bringing cloud monitoring, threat monitoring and agile and DevOps software development expertise to customers with national security missions. “We would consider this the perfect storm of capabilities that fit into ManTech,” President Kevin Phillips told me Monday after the deal was announced.
