An innovative effort that led to the creation and enhancement of a Montana Department of Revenue (DOR) website has earned a prestigious 2019 Service to the Citizen: Champions of Change Award that honors public servants of all levels for their leadership and dedication to delivering an outstanding experience to the public. The DOR service, My Revenue (app.mt.gov/myrevenue), and its project team competed against federal, state, and international efforts that produced citizen services with outstanding customer experience in the past year. My Revenue is an online platform that delivers hundreds of forms to citizens with an easy-to-navigate interface.
NIC Group's shareholders have approved its merger with the Commercial Bank of Africa, the company said on Wednesday, paving the way for the two companies to create the third-biggest bank by assets in East Africa. The deal is subject to approval from regulators and NIC expects the process to be concluded in the third quarter of 2019. In January, the two banks announced the planned deal in which current NIC Group shareholders would own 47 percent of the merged entity and CBA shareholders 53 percent.
This year’s honors include the Criminal Justice Section of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) website. The Maine Department of the Secretary of State, in partnership with InforME, celebrated the town of Thomaston becoming the 250th municipality to launch Rapid Renewal, Maine’s online vehicle registration renewal service. Rapid Renewal is an e-commerce service allowing citizens to conduct business with municipal government and state government in one seamless online transaction. Since its launch in December 2000, the service has processed more than 1.7 million renewal transactions for residents from across the state of Maine.
