Chuy's, an Austin, Texas, Tex-Mex restaurant known for its "Austin vibe" and annual Green Chile Festival, is opening its second Maryland location in Annapolis this fall. The chain is opening at 2339 Forest Drive in Annapolis — in the Festival at Riva shopping center — according to the company and the brokers representing the retail center. The 6,700-square-foot Annapolis location will join a Chuy's in Rockville as the only Maryland locations.
Chuy's is adding some East Coast flavor to its recipe for national Tex-Mex expansion, with plans to open a second Maryland location this fall. The Tex-Mex chain will have its new eatery in 6,700 square feet at 2339 Forest Drive in Annapolis, the state capital about 25 miles south of Baltimore, according to the company and the brokers representing the Festival at Riva retail center. In recent years, Austin-based Chuy's Holdings Inc. (CHUY) has embarked on a national expansion that gives it more than 80 stores in 16 states.
With no easy fix in sight, the Tex-Mex chain lowered guidance after a third straight quarter of falling comps.
