During the earnings call, Mark Sutton, chairman and CEO of IP, said the company was coming off record earnings in 2018 that had “really solid performance across the portfolio” and they were well-positioned for any challenges. “It is all about value creation,” Sutton said. “That is what drives our decisions and we are looking forward to 2019.” While Sutton and Tim Nicholls, senior vice president and chief financial officer for IP, seemed pleased with where the company was, they did make note of a commercial decision made during 2018 that would have a negative impact through the second or third quarter of 2019.
